Cook with Kim app privacy policy

Your kitchen.
Your choices.

A recipe app without an account, advertising or tracking. Here is how Cook with Kim handles your information.

Effective 26 October 2026 · Contact: Kim Fisher

Cook with Kim includes its recipes and food photos in the app. Your kitchen records are stored locally and are not sent to Kim or a developer-operated server.

Local kitchen records

This policy covers the Cook with Kim iPhone and iPad app by Kim Fisher. The app uses local Apple app storage to remember:

  • Saved recipes and your shopping list, including item checkmarks.
  • Recipe notes and ingredient checkmarks.
  • Your active cooking recipe, method step and timer state.
  • Recently cooked recipes.
  • Whether you have seen the welcome introduction.

These records let you save recipes, organize shopping and continue cooking. Cook with Kim does not have an account system, advertising, tracking, developer-operated analytics or developer-operated cloud synchronization. The app does not send these personal kitchen records to Kim.

Your operating system may include app data in device backups or transfers according to your Apple and device settings. Local storage does not mean that a device backup can never contain it.

Optional timer notifications

If you allow notifications, Cook with Kim asks the operating system to schedule local cooking timer alerts. The alerts are scheduled on your device without a developer push-notification server. Alert text can include a recipe title and may appear on the Lock Screen according to your settings.

You can decline notifications and still use the timer in the app. You can change permission in Settings at any time. Finishing the session, clearing the timer or resetting My Kitchen cancels the relevant app timer alert.

Sharing and contacting support

Sharing is your choice. When you use a share action, the system share sheet passes the selected recipe or shopping list to the destination you choose. That app or service handles the content under its own privacy practices.

Opening the contact website or sending an email involves that website, your email provider and the recipient's email service. If you contact Kim for support, the recipient receives the information you send, such as your email address, message and attachments, and uses it to respond to your request. Support messages are handled outside the Cook with Kim app.

Please avoid sending sensitive personal or health information that is unnecessary for app support. To ask about information you have sent, including access or deletion, contact kim@thekimfisher.com.

Your choices and deletion

Local kitchen records remain until you remove them, reset My Kitchen or delete the app, subject to your device's storage and backup behavior. You can unsave recipes, remove shopping items and edit or delete recipe notes within the app.

To clear the app's personal records together, go to My Kitchen → About Cook with Kim → Reset My Kitchen and confirm. This removes saved recipes, shopping items, notes, ingredient checks, cooking progress and Recently cooked records from this installation. It also cancels the app timer alert and resets the welcome introduction. The bundled cookbooks remain available.

Cook with Kim cannot erase copies held in device backups or content you chose to send to another service. Those copies have separate controls. For correspondence sent to support, contact Kim using the address above rather than resetting the app.
