A few useful answers

Using Cook with Kim

Are all the recipes free?

Yes. Kim is sharing all 300+ recipes in Cook with Kim for free, with no ads or subscription. The app is coming soon for iPhone and iPad. She collected and organized the recipes over eight years to make eating well more approachable.

Which devices does Cook with Kim support?

The initial release is for iPhone with iOS 27.0 or later and iPad with iPadOS 27.0 or later. Check your device's software version in Settings → General → About. The App Store listing will show whether your device is compatible when the app is released.

Where will the app be available?

The first public release is planned for the United States App Store. The app is coming soon; a public download link will be added to the homepage when it is available.

How do I find a recipe or ingredient?

Open Recipes and enter a recipe name or ingredient in Search. Use the meal selector and Filters to narrow the list. If nothing matches, choose Reset search and filters to see the full catalog again. Collections lets you browse the nine original cookbooks.

Where do I start with my goals?

In Discover, open Start with your goals. Get stronger shows recipes with at least 25g of base protein per original serving; Find your balance explores lunch and dinner; Stay healthy brings together recipes ready to eat in 30 minutes or less. Each list explains its selection and supports ingredient search. Every recipe remains available, for free.

Can I see the welcome introduction again?

Use the information button in Discover, or open My Kitchen → About Cook with Kim → Welcome to your kitchen. Choose Browse all recipes, Choose a focus, or Close.

Can I use Cook with Kim offline?

Yes. The recipe catalog and food photos are included in the app. Browsing, cooking progress, notes, saved recipes and your shopping list work without an internet connection. Email, websites and some destinations in the share sheet need their own connection.

How do I save a recipe?

Open a recipe and use Save. Open My Kitchen → Saved recipes to find it, or search your saved titles, ingredients and cookbooks. Use Unsave to remove it from your favorites; the recipe stays in the cookbook.

How does the shopping list work?

Choose Add to shopping list in a recipe to add every ingredient, or Choose ingredients to select only what you need. Open My Kitchen → Shopping list. Check items as you pick them up, filter All, To buy or Checked, and search the list. Add item lets you include anything else; use Edit item to change a personal entry. In List actions, Clear checked items removes completed items and keeps the rest. Amounts follow the original recipe yield. Different recipe versions stay in separate groups with their cookbook and source page.

Can I leave a recipe and continue cooking later?

Yes. Start cooking remembers your method step and ingredient checkmarks. Use Close to leave the cooking screen, then Continue cooking to pick up the active session. Your progress survives closing and reopening the app. Starting another recipe asks before replacing that session.

How do cooking timers and alerts work?

In cooking mode, choose the hours, minutes and seconds, then Start timer. You can pause, resume or clear it. The timer keeps time when you leave the screen. Allow notifications if you want an alert outside the app; you can still use the timer without that permission. Alert sounds and Lock Screen visibility depend on your device settings.

To change permission, open My Kitchen → About Cook with Kim → Privacy policy → Notification settings, or use your device's Settings. Finishing a recipe, ending or restarting its session, clearing its timer or resetting My Kitchen cancels the relevant alert.

Where are my notes and recently cooked recipes?

Open Your notes in any recipe to add a substitution, reminder or serving idea. Your recipe notes in My Kitchen brings those recipes together. To record a completed cooking session, choose Finish recipe, then Mark as cooked. Find it in My Kitchen → Cooking history, where you can search your 20 most recently cooked recipes.

Can I share a recipe or my shopping list?

Use Share recipe in a recipe or My Kitchen → Shopping list → List actions → Share shopping list. The system share sheet lets you choose the app or service. Cook with Kim does not send anything until you choose a destination; that service handles the shared content under its own practices.

Your saved kitchen

Does my kitchen sync between devices?

Your saved recipes, shopping list, notes, ingredient checks, cooking progress and Recently cooked records are stored locally. Cook with Kim does not have an account system or developer-operated cloud sync. Device backups or transfers may retain or restore app data according to your Apple settings.

How do I reset my personal data?

Go to My Kitchen → About Cook with Kim → Reset My Kitchen and confirm. This clears personal kitchen records from this installation, cancels its timer alert and resets the welcome introduction. The bundled cookbooks remain available. This reset cannot be undone in the app; device backups may hold older copies.

Where can I find the app version?

Open My Kitchen → About Cook with Kim. The Version row shows the installed version and build number. Include it when reporting an app issue.

About the recipes

What does the recipe count include?

Cook with Kim brings together 300+ recipes from nine cookbooks. Similar dishes can appear as materially different source versions. Each recipe keeps its original cookbook and page reference so you can see where it came from.

How should I read nutrition and Make it 30?

Base nutrition follows the original cookbook's serving information. Optional Make it 30 protein suggestions are separate additions and are not included in the base nutrition figures. Values are estimates and can vary with brands, substitutions, portion size and preparation.

Why do some times or yields look different?

Cook with Kim preserves the original yield, including recipes that make a number of items rather than serve a number of people. It also keeps the source timing and notes for longer resting, chilling or preparation. The quick filter uses recipes with a reliable ready-to-eat time of 30 minutes or less.

How do I report a recipe correction?

Email Kim with the recipe title, cookbook, page reference if available, and the wording you think needs a look. Recipe and nutrition information is general; cookbook labels are not an allergen-safety guarantee. Review ingredient and product labels for your own dietary needs.
